I thought about roots a lot this week. Mine are tangled and mysterious so I tried to use one of the other prompts and it turns out that it does start with roots. I've come to realize that the tangled mess of my roots has led me to the amazingly gorgeous branches of my true tribe (family). All the wonderful, caring, freaky, fun, happy, sad, creative people I have been blessed to have as my branches! I threw some glitter around to honor The Glitterhood!

Chronicles Journal ~ Week Two

I watched a lot of YouTube mixed media art videos and over the next year I'm going to try as many of them as I can.

I saw one that reminded me of my younger years, blowing your paint with a straw!! 

So, I wanted to give it a try again....I love how the paint flows out in all kinds of spidery directions and the fun designs, wonderful colours and just the joy randomness brings! 

I did however, forget that you gotta have a lot of breath in you when you start, :)

I also decided to give rubber-stamping a shot....it's harder than I thought, especially if you use paint and not ink but fun anyway.

I have a lot of photos of when I was in Alaska and climbed several glaciers, it was one of THE most magical times in my life. I didn't want to take them out of their albums, glue might have destroyed them. I found a magazine photo that shows two of my favorite things...PENGUINS! and GLACIERS! Yay!

I have waaayyyyy too much ribbon and mulberry paper so I destashed a bit here.

I doodled with ink and markers....no pencil first, crude but way fun!

Chronicles Journal - Week One

So, my funny thing that happened today was that my phone was "blowin up"

All day and though it was with bunches of Happy Birthday love, it's constant beeping, dinging

and ringing almost drove me 'round the bend! *big smiles*

Accomplishments~

*Started my Journal page for Wonderstrange's Chronicles Journal-Week One.

*FINISHED journal spread for Chronicles Journal!

Most memorable thing this week~Why ME of course, my birthday, the 19th of January

And my amazingly beautiful granddaughter drew me a fabulous birthday cake!!

Destashed several pieces of ribbon and mulberry paper!

What I'm most excited about...I didn't put it on the spread but it's doing this JOURNAL,

And rolling my eyes? Well, I did that several times but curtesy suggests I don't reveal the

offending person or persons...yet :)

Book of Days (BOD) Week One Challenge
My word for the year is : Freedom.
Here is what I created to go along with my word, I had written a list of words I might want as my word for the year and hadn't decided which one I wanted. Last night I just started to paint, then draw and as she took form so did my word.
